Registered Yoga Teacher
I've been a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance since 2006. However, I have studied many styles of yoga for over 20 years. I have had the privilege of learning from some of the best yoga instructors in the New York City area., including certified Iyengar instructor, Joe Cilmi. I continue to increase my knowledge of yoga and its healthful benefits through classes, workshops and reading.
I teach a Hatha, Iyengar style of yoga with an emphasis on correct alignment. My classes and workshops can be adapted to students of all ages and physical abilities. I am particularly mindful of the need for gentle yoga for my older students. My focus is on the healthful benefits of yoga. In order for newcomers to feel comfortable with poses, I employ the use of props such as blocks, straps, blankets and chairs. Yoga need not be difficult or overly demanding for people of any age. However, for those who prefer a more challenging workout for greater cardio benefit and weight loss I can provide a rigorous vinyasa (flow) class as an option.
Over the years it has been my joy to teach even individuals with developmental, physical and cognitive disabilities. I have a Masters in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Arcadia University.
Now in my 50's, I am in excellent health thanks to regular yoga practice. It brings me great joy to share this abundance of health with others regardless of current age or physical condition.
Hatha Yoga at the Huntingdon Valley Library

One of the most popular forms of yoga, Hatha yoga involves movement coordinated with breath. Emphasis is on proper breathing as well as correct alignment. This is a total body yoga workout for balance, strength and flexibility.

No registration is necessary. Drop ins are welcome. Please call the Huntingdon Valley Libarary for details.
Preparing for Your Yoga Class:
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first class. Wear comfortable workout clothes. Bring your own yoga mat. Other props such as blocks and straps will be provided. Avoid eating two hours before class (However if you must eat, please have some fruit). Bring water.
